DIY PENCIL CASE

BY: SOFIA NICOLE PASION

Materials:
2 cloth of choice
garter/ elastic band
scissors
sewing materials
ruler, ribbon
candle
pens

  •       Prepare needed materials: 2 cloth of choice, garter/ elastic band, scissors, sewing materials, ruler, ribbon, candle, pens.

  •       cut the both cloths into preferred size (length and width). One should be smaller and must have margin like when placed on top of the other cloth. The space below is bigger than any other side for the pocket.
  •       Measure the length of garter on top of the smaller cloth then cut.
  •       Place the edges of the garter near the candle to avoid fraying of cloth and bind the its edges as it melts.
  •       Mark the cloth where you will place the garter and also mark the garter at least half an inch for pens to fit inside.
  •      Use running and back stitches when placing the garter together with the cloth. This is to ensure that the garter will be stable and not easily destroyed.
  •      After sewing the garter, place the smaller cloth on top of the other cloth again.
  •     Cut the portion of the edges similar to the size of the small cloth.
  •     Place markers on the sides to serve as guidelines
  •     Use only running stitch along the sides except for the lower area. Before sewing the sides, remember to place the designs beforehand on the bigger cloth then start sewing the sides right after.
  •     Sew the middle part so that if the garter is no longer stretchable and pens are likely to fall, there are pockets that can support the garters. (1 or more can be sewn in th lower area depending on the length of the pencil case.
  •     Place in the left area a ribbon (any) that can close the roller pencil case.
